Letting Go Of My N77

Christmas is fast approaching. Everyone needs money. And for those who have no jobs or businesses where they can get finances, the only way to get resources is to grip against the blade.

I lost my Nokia N77 last week while I was busy shopping at SM Dasma. It was in my bag’s pocket. A woman, more or less 30 years old, walked on beside me. I got my instinct, grabbed my bag in front of me, and checked if my cellphone was still in the pocket. I was stunned when I noticed that the pocket was open already and the cellphone wasn’t there. I hurriedly looked for the woman but unfortunately, she was nowhere to be found.

In that moment, I lost my hope of finding my N77 again. It was really impossible to get it back since that mall is so big and the security is not that helpful and dependable. How did it happen in the first place in the presence of security guards and personnel?

News have been collected and some friends told me that there were a number of theft and robbery stories, like mine, that occurred at SM Dasma. The victim wasn’t only me. A friend unconsciously lost her Motorola V3, too, with the same fate as mine while she was strolling around the mall.

The moral of the story, keep your valuable belongings in a safe place – inside your bag or in your pocket - so that you can prevent “watching vultures” from getting what they want and need.

In my case, I just let it be. I love my N77 but I have to let go… Some good things never really lasts. Perhaps better things will come…

And maybe the one who got it badly needs it. Pamasko ko na lang sa kanya yun!
