Halo-Halo

Senator Chiz Escudero - The Hearthrob Politician!
Oh well, the Office of the President Chorale was invited to perform during the Filipino-Chinese Chamber of Commerce Christmas Party last year. We're very lucky to meet him in person. He's such a funny and sensible guy.

Oh, bra sale!
Before my Superfriend Edel and I proceed to Blue Water Day Spa in Ortigas, we consensusly decided to window shop at Greenhills Shopping Center... and ended up buying a couple of these underwears for summer.

Aspiring MVPs while waiting for their turn to show off their deadly moves
The Malacañang Sportsfest '09 is about to start on March 2. Players from various OP offices attended the Badminton tryout at the PSG Badminton Gym. Go, Blue Team!!!

Banana Split
Dairy Queen has never failed to satisfy my craving tastebuds. Last Tuesday, after the Blue Water Day Spa - Capitol Hills Opening with Piolo and Marian, Superfriend and I had our "I don't care about diabetes" dinner at Dairy Queen.

This is for my bikini!
I always joke my officemates that I will wear two-piece bikinis during summer outings and out-of-town teambuilding activities. Of course, they don't believe me at all. However, I am really trying to lose some weight before summer so I bought a jump rope at Toby's last weekend, along with a neoprene waistband. This is for my bikini, yeah!!!

Green Is In!
I am a nature lover and a supporter of some environmental movements. When I saw campaign posters at SM last Sunday, I hurriedly ran to the supermarket to buy this green shopping bag to show my participation in saving the world. Green is in!!!

Good Deed for the Sick Children
After a year (refer to this post), I was back at Home of Joy in Tondo, Manila to join my choir members in handing over our cash donation (a yearly act) to the Missionaries of Charity. It's good to see that the kids last year have grown up. For those interested to help the sick children, you can contact them at telephone number (+632)255-0832.

Goya Dark Mint Chocolate Not!
I love chocolates, especially Goya Dark Mint chocolate. But this is not about edible chocolate. It is about Freeman's Truly Luscious Body Wash with chocolate mint scent that my superfriend gave me. Hmmm... Smells yummy!

Blue Water Day Spa-Capitol Hills Opens Today!

I was invited (yeah right, after winning in a contest) by Mr. Francis Simisim, VP and co-owner of the Blue Water Day Spa, to witness the opening ceremonies of its spa branch in Capitol Hills, Quezon City.

The event was highlighted by a press conference with BWDS endorsers, Piolo Pascual and Marian Rivera, along with co-endorser, Al Francis Chua, basketball coach of Sta. Lucia, PBA. The media people and bloggers, like Ms. Noemi Dado, pinoymoneytalk, Mistervader, Adaphobic, Sarah Cada, Digital Manila, Badudets, Earthlingorgeous, Edelweiza and yours truly, enjoyed mingling, interviewing and taking photos with Papa Piolo, Marimar, Coach Al, and Sir Francis.

“What makes Capitol Hills Branch different from other BWDS branches is its natural setting.”
~

Being located at the top of a hill, surrounded by greeneries of a golf course, covered with clear and blue skies, and embraced with calm, cool and fresh air, there is no doubt that you will enjoy your moment at the spa, away from the noise and stressful speed of life in the city.

I also learned from Sir Francis himself that the BWDS is on the process of opening another branch in Tagaytay City. I am more excited upon hearing this good news since I am less-than-an-hour away from there. Meaning, it would be more accessible and practical for me. Yey!

Well, let’s just wait for more and expect the best from BWDS.

And while waiting, you can have your soothing head, body and/or foot massage from their professional massage therapists and reflexologists. You can call them @ 4730455 (Capitol Hills), 7235534 (Greenhills), 8427667 (Alabang), 8173126 (Makati), 9272258 (Mother Ignacia), 7278420 (Ortigas) and 046-8602326 (Tagaytay).

Ginumis, I Want.

Summer is just around the corner. I can almost feel the summer's heat and I am looking forward to my most anticipated beach escapades. I don't care about tanned skin and sunburn... All I want is a refreshing out-of-town trip!!!

And at this point in time, I miss the "ginumis" at Tippy Tappy, Daet, Camarines Norte.

Pink Sisters Chapel, Tagaytay City

Last weekend, we went to Pink Sisters Chapel and Convent in Tagaytay City. It was my first time there. There are areas at both sides of the main church where you can write your prayers and wishes and put them in the drop box. Many people testify that prayers and wishes come true when you ask intercession from this church.

I personally thank my Uncle Roger, Auntie Dada, Cousins Claire and Allan, for bringing my Dad, Mom and me here. Mwaaaaah!

This came as a prize for winning in the Blue Water Day Spa Theater Competition of Mr. Francis Simisim, requiring participants to share their ideas of a unique, great "family" type of party which can be held in the spa theater.

If you are interested, you can check my entry HERE, it's all about a "Party for Singles on Vday."

And here are some photos during our BWDS event.

Callao Cave in Peñablanca, Cagayan

Callao Cave is in Peñablanca, Cagayan. When you come from Tuguegarao City, it will be right before you cross the Cagayan River, and across is the town of Callao, Cagayan.

It is said that the cave has 16 chambers but the eighth and so on chambers have been closed for the public because of the presence of thousand snakes. Snakes, yaiks!

Our trip to Callao Cave was an adventure! It was dark inside and the only light we have was the sun, which comes in through some holes on the cave's ceiling. Stalagmites and stalactites, rock formations which are common in caves and are formed through centuries, are also present inside.

These is a chapel in the first chamber (Sorry, I was not able to take a good shot of it), where groups of divination gather every year, especially during Holy Week, to pray and ask for renewed power.

The Buntun Bridge is 2.5 kilometers from Tuguegarao City Proper. It is 1.098 kilometers long and links Tuguegarao City to the 2nd and 3rd district municipalities of Cagayan and Apayao provinces. Pancit Na Naman???

When you go to Cagayan, you should taste their famous pancits. I say pancits because there are two kinds of it in the province.

Pancit Tuguegarao a.k.a. Batil Patong
First is the Pancit Tuguegarao, a.k.a. Batil Patong. The toppings is composed of pork meat and (lots of) pork liver, which makes the dish so tasteful that you can forget your name after some spoonful of it, cabbage cut into little strips and some togue (monggo sprouts). A sunny side-up egg is also put on top to make it even more delicious.

Pancit Cabagan

The second one is the Pancit Cabagan, a kind of stir-fried noodles which actually originated from Cabagan, Isabela. It is also topped with cabbage and eggs (this time, it's itlog ng pugo or quail eggs), and crunchy lechon carajay. The only difference from Batil Patong is that Pancit Cabagan is more saucy and soupy (as shown in the pictures).

The noodles used for both pancits are freshly made up of egg and flour. Cagayeños make their own noodles, maybe that what makes their specialty unique. And these pancits would never be complete without spicing it up with a kind of sauce that you have to mix depending on your preference. You will be provided with a bowl full of chopped white onions, soy sauce, vinegar with green and red siling labuyo, and calamansi. Put them together and mix with the pancit. Tip: The more you put into the noodles, the yummier. Hmmmn... I can still imagine how Batil Patong and Pancit Cabagan taste.

Yum-Yum!!!

Our Lady of Piat Church, Tuguegarao City

I went to Cagayan province last week with my Uncle Roger, Auntie Dada and cousins. Our first destination was the Our Lady of Piat Church. It is considered the "Pilgrimage Center of the Cagayan Valley" because thousands of devotees and tourists come here all throughout the year to pay homage to Our Lady of Piat, a.k.a. Our Lady of Visitacion.

I prayed for my loved ones' health, safety and happiness, and for mine, too.

Next destinations to blog about: Buntun Bridge, Pancit Tuguegarao (Batil Patong), Callao Cave, Pancit Cabagan and Balete Pass.
