I Wanted To Be A Doctor

Last Tuesday, I went to PGH to donate blood for my Tito Marlo. He was operated because some organs malfunctioned doctors had to remove his pancreas and cut a section of his small intestines. As I waited for my turn at the Blood Bank, I watched doctors and nurses passed by me. How I envy them wearing their lab coats and nursing scrubs.

When I was little, I always dreamt of becoming a doctor – just as how much I wanted to become an astronaut, a scientist or a lawyer. Once I enrolled in a caregiver course but due to some valid reasons, I stopped. I thought being a caregiver would lead me to what I really wanted. Unfortunately, I did not even have the chance to wear my medical scrubs.

If I would have regrets in life, not going to medical school is one. But as what I have said earlier, my priorities have already changed and my dreams have been altered by simpler ones. But who knows? It is not yet too late for me. I am still young and things are, indeed, changing.

For doctors, nurses and medical practitioners out there, you can buy medical uniforms, scrub suits and scrub hats online by visiting the Blue Sky Scrubs website.

  12. Being a doctor was one of my earliest ambitions, before the blood scared me off, that is. Hehehe. Now I'm a doctor, but as my mom likes to say, I'm not the kind that helps people. Hahaha
